Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an uplifting, welcoming weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format throughout the camp is a party-style warm-up session, then three hour-and-a-half classes covering different urban dance forms, then an 60-minute jam to demonstrate those solos. Dancers are split into groups based on skill level, so it is perfect for those who are brand new to street dance, right up to advanced dancers or instructors. This event doesn’t include accommodation but there are a number of places to stay nearby, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into central London.

Sea Shanty Break in St Ives

St Ives is the excellent setting for a maritime music retreat. Participants will be taught historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at writing their own. The schedule includes vocal warmups, breath control techniques, performance tips and a closing performance. The holiday is based at a country house overlooking St Ives Bay. All meals are provided, such as a Cornish cream tea on the first day, breakfast options, packed lunches and three-course dinners. Grog, alas, is not included. Writing in Greece

Writer and lecturer Greg Mosse runs the regular sessions on this writing retreat. He covers topics including story structure, character development, locations and tension, to submitting work to agents. Greg’s wife, the bestselling author Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the beginning and end of the week. The retreat is held at a traditional complex in Vamos at the foot of the White mountains – 10 one- and two-bedroom cottages are set around a central garden with a pool (non-writing partners are welcome to come along).
