Arteta Warns Injury Crisis Could Undermine The Gunners' Silverware Hunt
Arsenal's manager has voiced fears that his squad's pursuit for titles this campaign is being jeopardized by a concerning cycle of fitness setbacks and a grueling schedule.

Star player Declan Rice missed the Champions League trip to face Club Brugge due to sickness. Meanwhile, attacker Leandro Trossard and defender William Saliba remain unavailable.
There was, however, better news regarding Gabriel Jesus, with the South American striker registered to their Champions League squad. He replaces the injured youngster Max Dowman, who picked up an foot problem.
"Training, no because we don't have time to train. But obviously the fact that you are missing players, you are loading other players more, there's a consequence to that and it's a really vicious circle."
Dowman's issue is the most recent in a long series of injuries for the North London side. Since the beginning of last campaign, they have recorded 95 injuries, the second-most total in the Premier League.
Extended Absences
- Defenders Cristhian Mosquera and Gabriel Magalhães are unlikely to return until 2025.
- Midfielder Kai Havertz still recover from knee and "needs more time," as stated by the manager.
Arteta dismissed the suggestion that practice intensity were to culprit, citing a shortage of opportunity for sessions. He emphasized the pressure on fit players, some of whom have featured over 150 matches in two seasons.
Transfer Strategy
Even after a major summer spend over £250 million, Arteta stated the club is not planning to dip into the January recruitment market.
"At the moment we're just focusing on getting the players back and with luck it will be a question of weeks," he said. "We know how important those coming weeks are going to be."
Looking Ahead
The squad experienced their initial loss in 18 games at the weekend, reducing their lead at the top of the Premier League to two clear points.
Focus now turns to the Champions League, where a sixth group-stage win would virtually secure a knockout phase finish. Forward Gabriel Martinelli could make history by scoring in a fifth straight consecutive European match.
"The team is frustrated with the outcome, but we have to keep going," he stated. "It's not like everything is going wrong because we lost one game. So we stick together."
