The disputed, US and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announces it is terminating its aid operations in the affected area, after almost six months.

The group had earlier paused its three food distribution sites in Gaza following the truce agreement between Hamas and Israel was implemented in recent weeks.

The GHF aimed to bypass the UN as the chief distributor of aid to Gaza's population.

United Nations organizations and other humanitarian groups would not collaborate with its approach, stating it was improper and dangerous.

Many residents were lost their lives while trying to acquire nourishment amid chaotic scenes near GHF's sites, mostly by Israeli fire, according to the UN.

Israeli authorities stated its forces fired alerting fire.

Operation Conclusion

The GHF said on recently that it was terminating work now because of the "effective conclusion of its humanitarian effort", with a aggregate of 3 million parcels containing the amounting to in excess of 187 million sustenance units distributed to Gazans.

The foundation's chief officer, Jon Acree, also said the United States-operated coordination body - which has been set up to help execute the American administration's Gaza initiative - would be "implementing and enlarging the model GHF piloted".

"The organization's system, in which militant groups were prevented from misappropriating relief supplies, was significantly influential in convincing militant groups to participate and achieving a ceasefire."

Feedback and Statements

The Palestinian faction - which refutes aid diversion claims - welcomed the closure of the humanitarian foundation, based on information.

An official from said GHF should be subject to scrutiny for the negative impact it created to Gazans.

"We call upon all global human rights groups to ensure that it does not escape accountability after resulting in fatalities and harm of many residents and concealing the starvation policy practised by the Israel's administration."

Operational Background

The GHF began operations in Gaza on May 26th, a week after Israeli authorities had somewhat relaxed a total blockade on relief and commercial goods to Gaza that persisted for nearly three months and caused severe shortages of vital resources.

Three months later, a nutritional emergency was proclaimed in Gaza City.

The organization's sustenance provision locations in various parts of the Palestinian territory were administered by US private security contractors and situated within regions under Israeli military authority.

Relief Agency Issues

International organizations and their affiliates claimed the approach violated the fundamental humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence, and that guiding distressed residents into military-controlled areas was intrinsically hazardous.

United Nations human rights division reported it tracked the deaths of a minimum of 859 residents attempting to obtain nourishment in the area surrounding organization centers between spring and summer months.

A further 514 persons were lost their lives close to the routes of UN and other aid convoys, it also mentioned.

The majority of these individuals were killed by the Israeli military, as per the organization's documentation.

Divergent Narratives

Israeli defense forces said its troops had discharged cautionary rounds at people who approached them in a "threatening" fashion.

The organization declared there were no shooting events at the aid sites and accused the UN of using "inaccurate and deceptive" data from Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry.

Ongoing Situation

The organization's continuation had been unclear since Palestinian factions and Israeli authorities consented a ceasefire deal to implement the initial stage of Trump's peace plan.

The agreement stated relief provision would take place "without interference from the two parties through the UN organizations and their partners, and the Red Crescent, in combination with other worldwide bodies not linked whatsoever" with militant groups and the Israeli government.

United Nations representative the UN spokesman declared this week that the GHF's shutdown would have "no influence" on its work "because we never worked with them".

He also said that while more aid was getting into Gaza since the halt in hostilities began on October 10th, it was "inadequate to address all necessities" of the 2.1 million population.
