Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , after last week's discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games were the number of penalties both committed. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they could plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled big while new RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His strengths are his movement, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you constantly rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a championship and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they must do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
