The English golfer Secures the Abu Dhabi Title in Dramatic Play-Off Showdown Versus Tommy Fleetwood
The 30-year-old golfer displayed remarkable composure to secure the prestigious Abu Dhabi title on Sunday, beating his compatriot in a dramatic play-off following a rollercoaster last day of play.
Rai sank a crucial birdie from around eight foot to seal the victory, repeating his sole prior Rolex Series success at the Scottish Open in 2020, which was also a playoff victory over the same opponent.

Rai entered the last day with a one-shot lead over fellow Englishman Fleetwood and Danish golfer Nicolai Højgaard. He finished with a total score of twenty-under after a topsy-turvy, five-under final round that included seven birdies and two bogeys.
The challenger moved a stroke ahead with the 16th and 17th to play after a birdie on the sixteenth, but Rai tied it up again on the seventeenth and then missed a 10-foot birdie putt to claim victory on the final green.
Playoff Decider
That set up a playoff at Yas Links where Rai triumphed to take the championship and $1.5 million (£1.13m) in prize money.

The Danish golfer carded six birdies of his own, but his hopes of leading the leaderboard were hit by a dropped shot on the twelfth. England’s Mansell produced an superb last round 63 to end up in a tie for fifth place with Australian Daniel Hillier.
