Two Charged In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two men have been charged in connection with a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
