Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
